The Perfect Diet Book

Exercise is really important.

Exercise is really important and whatever form of exercise you choose you should treat it as something that you deserve to do and know that it will enhances your life.

If you have had a bad experience of exercise especially in school then it is too easy to think of exercise as hard work and a chore. You will think of it as something that both your mind and body have to endure, when the truth is that actually both your body and mind love exercise and need it to function efficiently.

There is no excuse for not doing any exercise, especially if you are a member of a gym and don't make the most of it. Would you pay $565 for a swim or $360 for a single workout?

You wouldn’t? But you would, you see if you have a membership to a gym or a club and you are not using it then this is exactly what you are doing. Have you thought to tell your family that you went today for your annual swim and how much that swim cost you? How embarrassing. Get out there now and get your money's worth.

Now turn off the computer and guess what you are going to do. Any ideas what is coming next? I may not be able to see and hear you but I do not exactly what you are thinking. You are going to go and exercise.

This is going to be fun. The question is what are you going to do? “Exercise” I hear you say, but be specific. How does your body know what to do if you are not specific? If you are going for a swim then you will need the appropriate gear, and going for a long walk in the cold is not the time to wear your bathing clothes.

Why not try something new, OK why not try something, anything, but how about ballet? No, where is your sense of fun here. Walking you can all do that. There was a television programme which showed people walking around the Malls. Many people exercise their credit cards at the Mall but not their body, try and do both if you have to spend your money. The average retired person would walk 800 miles a year around the Mall. No how about that for a challenge. OK! OK! I hear you all, what about 200 miles a year? Remember it isn’t all done in one day, but an amount each week.

Start slowly with 15 minutes walking a day and then increase it from there. If you want to get fit then you have to work at it. There is no point in complaining it is impossible to do, because most people will be able to walk around the Mall especially when they choose to go for some retail therapy.
